Color Study

CCCC is a project focusing on printer color blocks, or process control patches that are used in conjunction with transparent rectangles to highlight the process of color mixing.

Printer color blocks are used to help control the quality of individual colors used by a printer, so that the tints and hues are correct and consistent. I collected over a hundred for this study, scanned them into the computer and used them digitally.

The project includes a 7” x 7” 50 page custom book (set of five produced), a 26 page transparency book (one produced), a 20"x 32" poster (100 produced & distributed), and multiple exploratory digital collages.
